User's notes

Could be young A. floribunda. Phyllodes to 9cm long and 4 mm wjde, concentrated on one side of branchlets.

Another possibility is Acacia longissima, with phyllodes 6-30 cm x 1-6 mm, and siimilarly interrupted flower spikes. Though I do not think it has been planted in Canberra. It is coastal north from Batemans Bay, so would most likely not survive Canberra winters.
