A very useful record and new location for the Weasel Skink in the ACT. It is believed that all backyard populations in Canberra have started from individuals brought in with firewood (the lizards often shelter over winter deep in the interior of rotting or hollow logs). It is possible that they also have hitched a ride in pot plants and other materials taken to nurseries. I know of no records from natural bushland in the ACT - i have however seen them in montane forest (narrow-leaved peppermint) just north of Khancoban in KNP. The species is relatively common in moister parts of some coastal forests. WillO.
