This is a new location a long way from any other for what appears to be a widespread local ant species
User's notes
I did the crush test and the ant smelt of coconut.......... on the western side of the Murrumbidgee River, north of Tharwa. There are two gum tree stumps, 10-15m apart, both with ants nests in them.

I'm curious. You state you did the crush test and the ant smelled of coconut, but did you do the taste test? Do they taste like coconut too?
