User's notes

I assume this is a moth, although it was holding its wings like a butterfly. The only time it opened them was when it walked across the camera screen, and they looked a fairly plain dark grey. Camera strap in image 4 is 1 cm wide.

I distorted photo 3393838-4 to allow for the oblique view,
and isolated the forewing, and compared that with the pictures in
http://lepidoptera.butterflyhouse.com.au/lare/lare-wings.html
It was a bad match to the forewing of Chrysolarentia severata
and a good match to Chrysolarentia squamulata.
