User's notes

Discovered by my six-year-old daughter Ruby, who was very excited. Photos are one day apart. Ruby is interested to know how long it might be before the butterfly emerges.

Great discovery by Ruby! Pupation can take from a few weeks to months for this species - so you may get to see the adult emerge later this season, or it may overwinter as a pupa and emerge in the spring. Good luck.

We noticed today that the butterfly has emerged and we did see one flying around in the general vicinity, so assuming it is the one, then it was 22 days.
