Seed heads of Malva sp in a mown area of the park. Not sure about the species.

Probably. Could you wait till the petals are completely gone and take another photo. I cannot see any leaves so it is quite hard from a photo.
Also could you clear off extraneous stuff like dead leaves and grass leaves before you take photos. It makes a better photo and takes less effort for moderators.
