I have difficulty telling Crepis capillaris (weed) from Picris angustifolia (native) from photos. The diagnostics in the plant keys are based on seeds, pretty useless when there none. Someone with more recent local field experience than I might recognise it.
I'm pretty sure that is Crepis and not Picris. A good close up of the stems in silhouette will help to ID Picris, as it has minute T shaped hairs, while Crepis is smooth I think.
I haven't seen Picris within the Canberra area - It is mainly in higher altitudes. Can't be definite on species but lack of hairiness suggests C. capillaries rather than C. foetid
