Significant sighting

New recorded location for this species, which although quite widespread across south-east Australia is rare in the ACT

User's notes

These were growing further back into the forest at the same location as the roadside verge Thelymitra sp. posted in sighting 3387168. To me they seemed like they might be slightly different as all 6 plants were pretty much exactly the same (the roadside verge plants were very variable) - and in particular the forest plants all seemed to have a much wider / flatter leaf (prominently ribbed) than anything out next to the road. Another single plant I saw in the forest back closer to the Namadgi National Park sign also very closely resembled the plant pictured here. Several of these plants had longer stems (over 40cm) which had fallen over a bit and were running almost parallel to the ground. Interested to hear what the Thelymitra experts think! Cheers Glen

It does look different your previous Thelymitra posting. The open flower, petals and sepals hardly overlapping, and broad ribbed leaf suggests T. megcalyptra. What do the other 'experts' think?

Hi Tony - I added another image here that might add something to this sighting. Also posted a separate sighting (3387184) with images of the similar plant mentioned above from back down the road a bit. Cheers Glen

I'm suggesting T. megcalyptra for this one.
