This concealer moth, the Scat Moth, is remarkable because its caterpillars feed on the droppings of various marsupials such as wombats and wallabies that feed on grasses and herbaceous plants.I note though, that this specimen lacks a black spot on the thorax/forewing at the base, unlike the photo of the species featured on the Lepidoptera Butterfly House website, but like several photos of specimens of O. acceptella on the ALA webpage for the species. Is it sexually dimorphic?
