Hi CathB. Hard to be sure to species level, but I think your caterpillar looks very similar to examples I've seen in the Capusa g. (Wedge-moths) see on the Lepidoptera Butterfly House website see at:http://lepidoptera.butterflyhouse.com.au/naco/cucull.html and also on the Atlas ol Living Australia site, see https://bie.ala.org.au/species/urn:lsid:biodiversity.org.au:afd.taxon:1d00c29e-5946-4a6c-a725-dbeaad6a9052 At least one Capusa sp. recorded in the ACT includes Fabaceae sp. as host plants.
