Any reasons why you thought it was not Acacia longifolia?

I thought the leaves were too fine. Someone suggested Acacia fimbriata which is also not local. Had a single trunk branching low down.

The minimum width for longifolia leaves is 4 mm. Fimbriata leaves are 2-5 cm long, 2-5 mm wide, and are hairless. They usually have hairs on the margins (fimbriate) that are pressed in close to the margins. You might need a hand lens for that.

Leaves 5mm wide and 11cm long. Could the broad-leaved Acacia longifolia in Isaacs come from a second invasion?

Certainlly from a different source. I had assumed that any in Canberra had originally been planted.

A site visit on 23 Sep 2017 confirmed Acacia floribunda. A number of seedlings also noted coming up in the general area.
