The tree was planted 60 years ago along with most of the other trees in the park. Tree roots were mowed bare and recently been given a layer of composted material. The tree developed a large dead branch going upwards during the 3-4 year drought. Another tree in the same area regularly mown for fire regulations also suffered from exposed roots and also received some composted material! A big mention is that say 80% of the trees in the park are fire damaged due to previous regular burning of the whole park every few years and have fire scars and now some of those in mown areas suffer from mower damage!!
