With some effort, I could see the curled anthers. Bulbine glauca has anthers pointing straight up. A good closeup showing the detail of the centre of the flower would have helped.

Betty, Its habitat however was, as I think I mentioned, a well drained hillside and there were scattered plants. BB normally grow in drainage lines in clusters. Does this make a difference? GeoffR

Not really. I tend to think of glauca as being on steep rocky slopes or cliffs, and bulbosa on mown roadsides and in paddocks. However, habitat is not really reliable. Flower structure, and to a lesser extent, whether the flower stalks are waxy (glaucous) (Bulbine glauca) or not (Bulbine bulbosa).
