Is this sighting of the buttercup (Ranunculus sp.) or of the orange mess plus query caterpillar?
You probably need to put in two sightings referring to each other, one in plants, one in insects.

The Psychidae caterpillars only have patterns on the head and thorax, not the whole body.
The caterpillar looks more like a Noctuidae or Erebidae. Some of the Acontiinae are known to have cases.
