What is the difference between this species and the P. rufipennis that was identified at STEP? They look much the same to me.

One obvious and simple difference is the wing cases. Those of Phyllotocus rufipennis are all brown. Those of Phyllotocus navicularis have black patches at the rear.

Thanks. I hadn't noticed that the wing cases were shorter. I was not sufficiently observant and was confused by the black on the tail looking similar to the black on the wing cases.
