I think this is more likely to be C. fuscata (the flower stem in C. carnea is usually thicker and green).

OK. Point taken re the green stem. However, I had a group of strongly pink-petalled plants which sugested to me a second look was warranted

They are not easy to separate when you only have a photo to go on. Shape and colour can be variable in both species. If there are two or more flowers its NOT C. fuscata. C. carnea is not that common on Black Mt althought there are more appearing this year.
