Tony, how does Genus sp work? Or does it only apply to Orchids? Generally these sorts of identifications are left as unidentified it seems. Thanks for the IDs.
Identifying something to a genus is simply saying that we are reasonably confident that the genus is correct for this sighting but that there is insufficient information to determine the particular species, in this case the flower is needed to determine which of several species it might be. I'm not sure but I think the same technique is used for other plant categories on the CNM
