This is a male, shown by the bulbous pedipalps on the front of the head and the narrow abdomen.

This spider has a very toxic bite that can induce a severe allergic reaction (personal experience) but is no longer considered to induce necrosis. It commonly gets into bedding in houses and is a wandering predator of other spiders.
