I do not think it is Acacia howittii. I spent some time using Wattle 2 http://keyserver.lucidcentral.org/key-server/player.jsp%3bjsessionid=027A8A643F1C19580EB468DF6E87B9D0?keyId=100 and got down to about 10 possibilities, assuming the leaf length was 20 mm. You will need to take a specimen in to the Herbarium. It is not possible to ID this properly from a photo.
Close-up photos added, with 5mm grid background. I was unsure of ID because I expected A. howittii to be pendulous, but that is not always so. I will add it to my plants for the Herbarium.
With the extra photo it keys to Acacia howittii ot Acacia cognata. It does not look like any Acacia cognata I have seen. I am not really happy with Acacia howittii either. Could you take a specimen while it is still easy to count the flowers in the heads, and another one with mature pods, for the Herbarium.
