Hi @MPennay Would you mind confirming please, that the location on the Google Earth map is correct? I may be wrong, but the vegetation on the satellite image looks different to what is in your photo.
This beetle is sometimes black. That is called P. stygia. Although technically a different species, they are the same, in my opinion. There is an intermediate color form, with three stripes, originally named P. trivittata. That one is now synonymized and called P. stygia. If Paropsisterna is ever sorted out, I think think all three colors will be called P. stygia.
