User's notes

Similar to sighting 4209079. Many of these moths flying as it was getting dark, but not earlier in the afternoon. When they landed, some flitted first between low grasses and shrubs, but others seemed to dive straight into the leaf litter and vanished. These are two that didn't hide well enough. The first was slightly shorter, and the second longer, than 5 mm.

The excellent closeup photos of the head in the two reports showed the moth was family Tineidae, but I couldn't identify the species from photos alone. I visited the reserve at sunset when the moths were flying so I could magnify a specimen. They are a Tinea species that hasn't been recorded in recent years, the ANIC specimens are from Black Mountain in the 1960s. The genus has many species, including some well known house moths.
