The moth measured approx. 5mm

See also images on the ALA at Xanthodes amata#gallery Interestingly in Moths of Australia (2007, 2017) at page 33 the authors Zborowski and Edwards say their book does not include the family Momphidae which is one of 'some rarely seen families, those containing only one species, or, for which, we lacked a living photograph'.

I got this one wrong earlier. Both species are tiny black moths that look superficially similar, but are quite different under the microscope. Stagmatophora argyrostrepta is family Cosmopterigidae.
