Author's notes

High up on Mt Jagungal. Definitely an alpine gentian but ID not certain

I am fairly sure it is Gentinella muelleriana (stems usually 15-25 cm high, anthers 2.5-3 mm long). There is, however, a possibility that it is cunninghamii (stems 25-55 cm high, anthers 1.7-2 mm long).

Many thanks. Others plants I saw had similar length stems or shorter, probably none more than 25cm. I tried enlarging the photo, and I could see one anther right on the lip of a petal, but most others were inside and the length was hard to judge from the photo.

Subsp. alpestris is the common snow gentian in that area. However subsp. jingerensis has occasionally been recorded, and without a lot more information, I would not be prepared to confirm the sighting at the subspecies level.
