Yes, quite possibly Betty - I hadn't realized Solanum aviculare might have leaves with toothed margins. Thought they were either entire or lobed.

Being a photo by John Tann, who is a high up somewhere in NSW Environment, I am pretty sure the ID for his ohoto is OK. Maartje, I think you will have to wait till it gets bigger and flowers if you want an ID for this.

Interesting, I thought the Lomatia made sense but indeed that Solanum even more so. I will need to go again in spring.

I will confirm it as Solanum aviculture but a check when it flowers would be good. Lomatia often have relict seed heads which I can't see on this specimen
