This is a historic record of one of the African Boxthorn thickets in the reserve east of the residential estate The Fair which wasn't built at the time when I took the photos in 2010 (during monitoring); the location is only approximate - my old camera had no GPS. It took us volunteers a long time, googles, helmets and other protective equipment to cut ourself into the thickets to remove them. There were many rabbit warrens underneath the thickets. I registered African Boxthorn as a WoNS. Volunteers removed AB without any help from ACT Gov; we remove about 98% of the woody weeds from the mt Majura nature reserve including those invasive species that Gov promotes and plants and encourages volunteers to remove when they have invaded nature reserves...
