thanks https://canberra.naturemapr.org/users/22727. I thought it could be AB; I never recorded AB that far southeast of the major invasions on Mt Majura's northwest slopes. It worries me because the specimen was quite young so there must be still mature fruiting AB around - I thought we eradicated the species but it may still occur in the Gov horse holding paddock or in the Mt Ainslie nature reserve. The other interesting point is the encounter of a number of species such as Privet, Laurustinus and Nettle Tree that are spread by birds. This is important to note because of the discussion of Government plantings of invasive species such as Callery pear. The discussion is about distance of plantings from nature reserves (250m? 500m? 750m?), not avoidance. Volunteers must now prove that Pied Currawongs which have increased to pest numbers in Canberra can fly quite a distance... cc abread111MichaelMulvaneyMike
