This is an old photo from an evening last summer. I took my usual walk through the grasslands and saw an unusually large amount of these butterflies. Although they looked like Common Grass-Blues, this evening they had a more intense blue colour than I've seen before, some appeared almost white in the fading light. They did not fly away when I approached them, but stayed still close to the soil on a low hanging straw of grass, some upside down as in one of the pictures. The next day they had almost all disappeared.
