if the size is at the 12mm endof size range. It looks more like Doratifera sp. With gum moths you can see the threads of the cocoon.

@WendyEM I'm not very good at estimating metric sizes, especially in mm so size may not be accurate. It wasn't far away so when I take the dogs out later I'll see if it's still there and take a tape measure.
