I'm not sure what these insects were but they appeared Sawfly-like in the way they were clumped together and elevated their front ends when disturbed by ants. They were sighted clumped together beneath a stick and don't appear to have emerged from the ground beneath them as it was mostly a rock slab. They had probably travelled together as a mass to this location, Sawfly-like. The ants approached this mass of insects very warily, collecting individuals or clumps of them before carrying them off. The ants are shown in previous sighting 4734732. One for NatureMapr's experts.
