Light orange, bulbous, growing from a small log. Seems like one plant but with about 5 pieces growing from the same plant. No stalk

Update on orange fungus on log. Only a few days after logging the photo, I checked it and it has disappeared. The place where it was is covered in snail or slug slime so I think it's been completely eaten away. I'm adding this update as it may help with identification.
