Could be a Grevillea juniperina hybrid. With the vivid colour of its flowers, I believe it to potentially be a hybrid rather than a natural species. There are many Grevillea hybrids, they appear to hybridise readily. Additionally, these hybrids are very easy garden escapes within and around Canberra and as they are spread by seeds, they do not have to complete resemble the parent plant from which the seed came from.

Oh, that would make sense. The leaves are the same as the native Grevillea juniperina, but the flowers differ. There are other planted native grevillea (don't know species, but leaves much broader), and also accidentally planted non-native grevillea. So hybridisation would make sense. Thank you
