User's notes

3 quite large dogs; owner insists that the nature reserve is a dog off lead area and there is no sign saying otherwise at the Valour park / Federal Highway entry.

Waltraud, next time I hope you have a shotgun with you. Point out to the owner that there is also no sign at that entrance saying 'no shooting of off-leash dogs', or 'only rangers may shoot stray dogs' or anything to indicate that their arrogant, selfish, illegal behaviour should be tolerated.

If fox baiting is started in Ainslie Majura, to save the last few Rosenberg's Goannas, off-leash dogs will be seen less often.

Mt Majura is on the Parks ACT web page as an on-leash only site. The Strathnairn track seems to be the ONLY urban reserve area where dogs are permitted off-leash. All other urban reserves are ‘dogs prohibited’ or ‘on-leash’ sites
