Mike it looks like the Strawberry Tree Aphid, Wahlgreniella nervata, a native of north America, which I don't think has been formerly recognised as occurring in Australia, though I note there are two records on Inaturalist. It seems to feed on a range of Rose family plants but doesn't seem to be considered a pest risk.

If the ID is right, then this could be the third Australian record. I didn’t know there were so many species of aphids. See https://www.biotaxa.org/Zootaxa/article/download/zootaxa.4728.4.12/59402 for over 100 known in Australia.
