stinging hairs not obvious, but otherwise fits the description for U. urens

I would be surprised if this weed is Urtica urens ? (a weed I know well). I think it's probably something else ? Even young nettles have the hairs and also the leaf serrations are rather different from this plant found here (in my opinion)..

" Young stems and leaf stalks quite hairy. Leaves opposite each other, 1-7 cm long, mostly 10-45 mm wide, lower surface paler than the upper surface, margins toothed or deeply and narrowly incised, tips blunt or sometimes pointed. "
Description from https://apps.lucidcentral.org/plants_se_nsw/text/entities/urtica_urens.htm shows a range of leaf shapes and indentations are possible. The young stems did have hairs.
I agree the venation looks different.
Let's see what other moderators come up with.
As you pulled them out we cannot wait to see the flowers.
Google Lens suggests Mint family, based on the leaf edges and venation. It was aromatic.
