The fourth image shows a feature seen in many insects. It's a closeup detail of the beetle’s protective forewings (elytra) which are partly covered with dimples or pits. These provide additional strength to the exoskeleton by increasing rigidity and resistance to bending and tearing, without adding significant weight. The pits seen in this image vary in quantity, size and location, being deepest and more abundant at the connection of the elytra to the body and tapering off to none furthest away from the connection. Presumably the additional strength and resistance to bending and tearing is required where the pits are more abundant and the elytra are subject to greater forces.
The fifth image shows some detail of two sections forming an antenna and how there appears to be a ball and socket type joint at each connection.
Additional closeup images of the beetle are shown in following sighting 4723614.
