Waltraud did this tree have thorns and if so were they single or paired

It looks like Gleditsia triacanthos but the habit is wrong. Perhaps competing regrowth from cut stump, or does photo 3 show a trunk?

I added 3 more photos that I took this evening; the longest pod I measured was 40cm, there were no thorns; there was at least one recruit growing under the tree.

You can compare it with the Gleditsia triacanthos (Honey Locust, Thorny Locust) near Verco St.

Thanks Mike. Apparently this variety produces lots of fruits but no thorns. May be the recruits would grow both, thorns and fruits. I was hoping the fire unit would clear those garden extensions in the inner asset protection zone when they recently cut a lot of native trees and shrubs further in the nature reserve including Cassinia longifolia and C quinquefaria shrubs planted by volunteers (with PCS permission) along a drainage line away from the inner asset protection zone or tracks. I thought this tree in particular should have higher priority, it not only grows in the inner asset protection zone but under the low hanging power line. FoMM planted 1 native for >10 large woody weeds removed; see for instance https://majura.org/working-party-23-10-2022/ Perhaps we should have left the woody weeds for the fire unit to remove ....
