User's notes

A new generation of mantises on the JCSMR lavender. I'd been keeping an eye on this egg case for the last few weeks, and today was the big day. A procession of around 20 tiny mantids making their way out from the egg case and down the lavender stems. I had wondered how many would survive, as I had also spotted several mantis parasite wasps injecting their own eggs into the case. I'll add photos of them as another sighting and keep an eye out for the wasp hatchlings as well.
