Friends of Mt Majura (FoMM) planted Cassinia longifolia and other native shrubs along the drainage line to replace a large amount of woody weeds that we removed. Our plantings have been cut recently, the second and third photos show the stumps of 2 cut older C. longifolia, old and young plants were removed, they probably ended in the big pile of mulch shown in the first photograph. I can't provide better features for id .... FoMM was not informed that their plantings will be removed and don't know the reasons for removal. Thickets of woody weeds that were growing there before were never touched - there was even a willow growing in the ditch along with massive firethorns, Privets, African Olives, Nettle trees, etc, see photos and explanations at https://majura.org/working-party-23-10-2022/ Scroll down to see the woody weeds that volunteers removed and cut in small pieces for transport - all with hand tools (!) - and Parks Service shredded.
