This doesn’t look like the ignota that I’m used to. All of the ignota I have seen before have a metallic green pattern whereas in this specimen the pattern just looks black. Also every specimen in my collection has red apices with a pre apical mark whereas this specimen the mark covers the entire apices.
It might be that specimens from this area are differently marked as my specimens are from a but further north.

I'm inclined to go with C. deyrollei for this one. It's similar to your CNM #4425533, photographed at Geehi, 20 Feb 2022.

I agree Kimberi. It matches the southern colour form of deyrollei (previously described as C. sancta but synonymised by Barker).

Well there you go:......they were all within 5m of each other so not surprising they are related. The distinct blue and green are in contrast though.

Most definitely, as Kim Pullen says, Castiarina deyrollei. Yes, formerly had the taxonomic name of Castiarina sancta, subsequently synonymised by Dr Shelley Barker with Castiarina deyrollei. Nonetheless, I'd be interested to see the results of a comparative DNA / RNA analysis with non-red specimens of Castiarina deyrollei, 'just in case'. Cheers, Allen M.. Sundholm.
