The bandicoot seen in sightings 4720583 and 4720584 dug up this bull ant nest and fed on the ants and eggs until driven off by the very agitated ants. After the bandicoot left, the ants swarmed out over the adjacent area and path looking for the culprit.

Great sighting Tim - I had no idea a bandicoot would take on a Myrmecia nest! Looks like it was eating the pupae which must have been close to the surface. Cheers, Jon
