User's notes

Thought it was dead to start with as it was not moving. When I picked it up to take a photo of its face I felt a faint vibration in its body and something started to protrude from its abdomen - thought maybe an egg sac. I moved it off the exposed track and onto soft soil protected by grasses and no obvious ants.
