A rose that re-sprouted after previous treatment. The first photo shows the main rose cut at ground level after I removed litter and some soil (note the horizontal not oblique cut at the lowest point) ; the red colour is from the dye mixed with glyphosate that I sprayed on the cut surface; the second photo shows on the right hand side a lateral root that I lifted up cut and treated, and a new shoot from this lateral root on the left; the third photo shows blue marked new shoot before cut (left), the cut lateral root (middle) and cut surface of the main plant (right). Roses are vicious re-sprouters and produce suckers from lateral roots - correct treatment and thorough check of lateral root suckers is crucial.
