I found this lacewing struggling in the grass. With a deformed wing it seemed unable to fly and would no doubt have become victim to the meat ants or the Magpies so I rescued it. I didn't have a container but it was content to sit on my glasses case until I got it home safely. I still find it impossible to believe that the tiny inconsequential creatures my sibligs and I used to unearth in our childhood, could turn into such a large and beautiful creature.
