User's notes

Unsure what type of flies these are. They were similar in size to Freeloader flies, but the body shape is different. The overall length of the mating pair was less than 12mm. In the second image the male is on the left (based on the compound eyes touching) and the female on the right (based on a space between the compound eyes).

Have shown these to Dr Bryan Lessard (aka Bry the Fly Guy) and he has identified them as Pachygastrinae soldier flies, near the genus Damaromyia
