3 groups of Sambar deer (1-2-5). On edge of Tallaganda National Park. Captain Flat Rd / Wild Cattle Rd. Also saw 1 Fallow Deer (very close - almost hit it with my car).

Looks more like a Red Deer, Cervus elaphus. large creamy/white rump, long narrow face/snout.

You are probably right. This deer was by itself and hindsight it was slightly different to other groups of deer. Within 20 minutes Red Deer, Sambar, and Fallow seen. I don't think this bold well for Tallaganda State Forest and National Park in regards to deer numbers.
