I do not rely on that source. Don does not have the space to include pictures of all variations in variable genera like this. The selected museum specimen (in my experience) usually best matches the live shot even when there is a lot of variablity in the species.

Fair point, but I'm not sure I see the faint whitish bar on the trailing edges of the forewing which seems to be present in all three specimenx at https://bold-au.hobern.net/specimens.php?taxid=366841

I don't see what you mean about the faint white bar. If you are not happy with Epiphyas fabricata, an alternative is E. postvittana which has a form like this.
