Marsilea mutica has a distinctive two-tone ring colouring on fronds.
Likely to be another species Marsilea.

That’s what I thought as well, are the two tones visible in young leaves as distinctively as more mature leaves?

Yes looks more like M costulifera than M hirsuta, and not M drummondii, but it’s hard to be certain with just visuals of fronds.

Check out the Vicflora key Jane, I got to M.costulifera fairly easily. Leaves seem to be roughly cuneate.
