User's notes

All the dotted sun orchids' flowers were shut for the day (not a lot of sun). However, I noticed one flower that wasn't quite closed, and when I looked with the naked eye I could see was some dark matter at the back of the flower. Imagine my amazement when, with my camera's zoom, I saw two tiny native bees snuggled in for the night (I know - 'snuggled' isn't the correct word, but sounds a bit more descriptive than roosting . . .)

Thank you! Really brought into focus the bee’s size. Went back this morning, flower still closed but bees gone

Have seen this in Wahlenbergia flowers but not orchids - so good!

Yes, I've seen them curled in a Wahlenbergia bed - just as sweet to see. I was surprised to see them so deep in the orchid flower, that they stopped it from closing up for the night!
