I didn't collect any of the specimens from that night, however I can do back and try to find them, and raise them to adulthood.

I'm not sure what they eat though and pretty rubbish at plant identification. I'd assume the caterpillars found on live plants that have leaves, would eat that species of plants, however some of the caterpillars like this one; were on dead trees with no foliage

It looks like a Lithosiini, which feed on algae and lichen on tree trunks and stones. So pop a couple in a clean jar covered by a piece of fabric held by an elastic band, with some old bits of twig with lichen or algae on them. Put the bottle where you can easily check it every day: I put mine on the kitchen window sill. That one looks nearly full grown, so might pupate pretty soon.
