If this were a Coprinellus (or a relative), then by this stage of development I'd expect to see evidence of black spores (e.g. a dark deposit from one cap onto the one immediately below, given how densely clustered they are). I sstrongly uspect this fungus produces white spores and that itis a species of Mycena. A number of Mycena species show this clustered growth habit.
